Carlow Too Much for SMCC

Cocoa Beach, FL - In this afternoon's double header the Lady Seawolves faced off against the Lady Celtics of Carlow University located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Lady Celtics pitching staff took care of business giving up no runs in the first game, defeating the Seawolves 14-0 and only allowing one run in the second game again defeating the Seawolves, this time by a score of 9-1.

In the opening contest of today's double header Carllow opened up the first inning by scoring their first six runner, putting them on top 6-0. Celtic pitcher Emily Pritts (Beaver Falls, PA) threw a no hitter and only allowed two runners, Taylor Clapp (Richmond, ME) and Shannon Blanchard (Windsor, ME), to make it on base. Both these runners were hit by pitches. The Lady Celtics tallied eight more runs during the contest to blow by the Lady Seawolves 14-0.

In round two Lady Seawolves' pitcher Charlotte Lewis (Chatham, NH) singled to get on base and was advanced to third by a hit from first baseman Kathryn Gilio (Hampden, ME) who went three for three at the plate in the second contest. Catcher Roberta Trafton (Corinth, ME) hit an RBI single to drive Lewis home and put the Seawolves on the books. Carlow managed to knock in at least one run in all five innings and in the fifth Kenzie Young (Leechburg, PA) drove a bomb over the fence to bring in the runs that would then mercy rule the game at 9-1.

These losses bring the Lady Seawolves record to 0-4 overall. They will return to action on March 13th at 3pm in a double header against Penn State Hazleton.
