South Portland - The softball team picked up their first two wins of the fall season this afternoon as they defeated YSCC opponent Central Maine CC in double header action. The Seawolves managed an intense comeback win in game one, winning 7-6, and then they dominated in game two, 17-8.

In the bottom of the seventh inning in game one the Seawolves were chasing a four run deficit, 6-2. Abigail Nielsen (North Yarmouth, ME) and Micheala Willwerth (South Portland, ME) both followed up with base hits to score Nadeau and pull the Seawolves to within three. Pitcher Erica Brochu (Lewiston, ME)singled to get herself on base but CM was able to get Genthner out at third, leaving Brochu as the winning run. With two outs, a tie game and the winning run on second base the Seawolves were able to rattle off a base hit and then a walk to load the bases for second baseman Quinn Racine (Franklin, VT). Racine delivered an RBI single to give the Seawolves an incredible come from behind victory.

In game two the Seawolves jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after one inning but CM was able to fight back and take the 5-4 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. Brochu kickstarted the offense again in the fourth with a two RBI double to put the Seawolves back on top. Heading into the bottom of the sixth the game was once again tied, but a strong performance by SMCC in the sixth resulted in nine runs and the win, 17-8.
