AUBURN, Maine – The Seawolves (1-7) showed plenty of promise on both sides of the ball despite dropping both games of a doubleheader with the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College (4-0).

First-years Mya Gerry (Woonsocket, R.I.) and Taylor Mack (Moses Lake, Wash.) each collected an RBI in the fifth inning of a 13-2 game one loss for SMCC. First-year Erica Hill (Lisbon, Maine) went 1-2 at the plate while pitching a complete game in the circle. First-years Ronnie Andersen (Tooele, Utah) and Carawyn Mergen (Southampton, Penn.) both knocked singles.

Andersen blasted her first home run of the season before first-year Bella Marier (Saco, Maine) notched a two run-triple and then scored on a wild pitch to cap off a four-run fourth inning in game two, which SMCC lost 14-6. First-year Emma Cousins (Wells, Maine) laced a line-drive single to right field that scored two runners in the third. Andersen led the Seawolves with three hits in game two to add to Cousins' two. First-years Morgan Brown (Lewiston, Maine) and Hailie Casey (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) both recorded singles. Hill pitched another complete game in the circle, tallying three strikeouts.

Coach's Thoughts: "Our offense was awesome in the second game – Emma's two-run single and Ronnie's home run gave our dugout a lot of energy. We're looking forward to keeping the bats going in the next few games." – Head Coach Chris Caswell

Seawolves Stars of the Day:

Andersen: 4-5 at the plate, solo home run in game two
Cousins: 2-5 at the plate, two-run single in game two
Marier: 1-5 at the plate, two-run triple in game two
