ORONO, Maine – The Seawolves (1-8) came within one run of picking up their second win of the season as they faced the Black Bears Club Team (1-0) inside the dome at the University of Maine.

First-year Taylor Mack (Moses Lake, Wash.) led SMCC with two RBI and a run scored on two hits. First-years Ronnie Andersen (Tooele, Utah) and Morgan Brown (Lewiston, Maine) registered two hits apiece for the Seawolves while first-years Emma Cousins (Wells, Maine), Bella Marier (Saco, Maine) and Chloe Truman (South Paris, Maine) each picked up a single. First-year Hailie Casey (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) also collected an RBI. First-year Erica Hill (Lisbon, Maine) racked up eight strikeouts while pitching a complete game in the circle.

Coach's Thoughts: "It's unfortunate to give up those two runs in the eighth, but we played a great game today regardless. We've come together really well as a group over the last couple of weeks." – Head Coach Chris Caswell

Seawolves Stars of the Game:

Mack: 2-4, two RBI
Andersen: 2-4, one RBI, one run scored, one stolen base
Brown: 2-4, one run scored
