WATERVILLE, Maine – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader at Thomas College (NCAA Div. III) on Tuesday, Apr. 4.

Game 1 (4 innings): L, 15-0 | [BOX]

Neither team posted runs in the first frame, but the Thomas Terriers took the reins in the third scoring 14 runs to finish the game in four innings.

The Seawolves' offense wasn't able to make any headway against the opposing starter Kelsey Currier who logged seven strikeouts over three innings; SMCC pitcher Erica Hill (Lisbon, Maine) suffered the loss.

Thomas' Kayla Duhaime swatted a triple and a homerun in two plate appearances.

Game 2 (5 innings): L 11-0 | [BOX]

Similar to the first game, Thomas did its damage in the third piling eight runs to eventually finish the game in five innings.

First-years Hill and Hailie Casey (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) were able to record a hit apiece.

Terrier's Jordan Devine led her team earning the win as the starting pitcher and contributing to her own cause at the plate with three hits and three RBI.

The Seawolves slip to 1-11 overall.

Softball takes the diamond at Graves Athletic Field in its home opener on Saturday, Apr. 8 against the Community College of Rhode Island. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
