DUBOIS, Penn.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team concluded its run at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series on Tuesday, May 14, suffering a 8-4 loss to #9 Carlow University.
SMCC scored a run in each of the first two innings on RBI hits from first-years Delanie Perry (DeLand, Fl.) and Morgan Duhaime (Ellsworth, Maine).
Carlow responded with a big inning in the fourth pushing five across. The Celtics added three more before the Seawolves made a last effort in the bottom of the seventh with two—delivered with RBIs from first-years Emily Hutchins (Kennebunk, Maine) and Sarah Wilkins (Alberta, Canada).
Perry logged three hits in four trips to the plate and Wilkins again went the distance for SMCC allowing eight runs, three earned, while striking out five.
