Seawolves Fall to Louisburg and Kaskaskia in Myrtle Beach

SMCC vs LOUISBURG

MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Seawolves fell to Louisburg College15-2 in five innings on Saturday afternoon.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

Louisburg jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning, then took off for six runs in the third. A solo home run in the fourth and a five-run fifth inning sealed the run-rule victory for Louisburg.  

SMCC plated two runs in the third inning, as Cameron Crerar (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) and Olivia Hill (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) each reached base and scored on RBIs from Delanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) and Emily Hutchins (Kennebunk, Maine).

SMCC vs KASKASKIA

MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA – SMCC fell 6-0 to the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

SMCC's bats were held in check as Kaskaskia starter Aspen Schmidt tossed six shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out one. The Blue Angels capitalized on timely hitting, scoring twice in the second and four times in the third to build an early lead. 

Despite a solid relief outing from Ella Voth (Colchester, Vermont)—who allowed just two hits in three shutout innings—the Seawolves were unable to mount a comeback.
