Wilkins Throws Perfect Game, SMCC Sweeps CMCC on the Road

GAME ONE:

AUBURN, Maine – Sarah Wilkins (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) made Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball history on Tuesday, throwing the first known perfect game in program history as the Seawolves blanked Central Maine 20-0 in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Wilkins was untouchable in the circle, facing 15 batters and striking out 11 on just 55 pitches. The sophomore right-hander didn't allow a single baserunner and was supported by the Seawolves' offense that racked up 19 hits, including 12 doubles and two triples.

Delanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) led the charge with a 5-for-5 day at the plate, including three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, and four runs scored. Wilkins also dominated offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Olivia Hill (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a pair of walks, while Cameron Crerar (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) added three hits, two doubles, and four RBIs.

GAME TWO

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The offense stayed hot in game two as the Seawolves piled on 18 more runs in an 18-7 win to complete the sweep. SMCC exploded for 15 runs over the final three innings, paced by another big showing from Sarah Wilkins, who drove in six runs with a 4-for-4 effort at the plate, including a triple and three singles.

Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) earned the win in the circle, tossing 3.0 innings while allowing six hits and four earned runs. Wilkins returned to close it out, pitching the final two innings.
