
GAME ONE:
SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball opened Saturday's doubleheader against the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) with a 10-2 victory in five innings, highlighted by Delanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) breaking the program's all-time RBI record in the first inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Perry entered the game tied with Sarah Ring's 2019 record of 73 RBIs and wasted no time making history, singling to left in the first inning to drive in her 74th career run. She finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
Hutchins followed with a two-run homer later in the first and added a second blast in the second inning as part of a 3-for-4, 6-RBI effort. Sarah Wilkins (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) also homered and drove in two runs, while Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) earned the win in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out four in five innings of work.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Seawolves rolled to a 16-0 shutout in Game Two, fueled by another dominant outing from Wilkins, who allowed just one hit and struck out 13 in 4.2 innings. With the performance, Wilkins surpassed the 200-strikeout mark for her career—finishing the day at 201 Ks.
Perry added to her new RBI record with three more in the second game, including two doubles and a single to bring her career total to 77 RBIs.
