SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball opened Wednesday's doubleheader with a 9-4 win over Central Maine CC, powered by a complete game from Sarah Wilkins (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) and a balanced offense.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Wilkins struck out seven and scattered seven hits while also making an impact at the plate with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Emily Hutchins (Kennebunk, Maine) launched her eighth home run of the season and scored three times. Cameron Crerar (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) posted a perfect 3-for-3 day with a double, three runs scored, and three stolen bases. Contributions from Courtney Frohaug (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) and Ella Voth (Lacombe, Alberta, Canada) helped seal the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SMCC capped off the sweep with a 10-0 victory in five innings, sparked by an eight-run first inning and a shutout from Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada).
The Seawolves made the most of just four hits, capitalizing on CMCC walks. Delanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) delivered the key blow with a bases-clearing double and finished with three RBIs. Wilkins launched a solo home run and was solid defensively at first base.
