Seawolves Capture YSCC Title

YSCC SEMIFINAL:

AUBURN, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball advanced to the YSCC Championship with a 29-2 win over NHTI in Sunday's semifinal at Central Maine Community College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Seawolves wasted no time, scoring 12 runs in the first inning and adding 17 more across the next three frames. SMCC racked up 27 hits as a team and stole five bases in a relentless offensive attack.

Emily Hutchins (Kennebunk, Maine) went 4-for-4 with three triples and five RBIs, while Sarah Wilkins (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) had a 4-for-4 day with three home runs, a triple, and six RBIs. Courtney Frohaug (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) and Ariana Cross (Orrington, Maine) each added four hits, and DeLanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) finished 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Cassidy Dunham (Keene, New Hampshire) picked up the win, striking out five and allowing just three hits in five innings.

YSCC CHAMPIONSHIP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

SMCC captured the 2025 YSCC title shutting out the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) 10-0 behind a pitching clinic from Wilkins—who tossed her fourth no-hitter of the season.

Wilkins struck out 10 in five innings. She also reached base and scored once offensively.

DeLanie Perry added two hits and three RBIs, raising her team-leading RBI total to 83. Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) contributed a double and a triple with three RBIs, and Cross and Cameron Crerar (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) each added two hits.
