SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— Five student-athletes of the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) class of 2016-17 have found new homes in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III athletics. Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, Maine), Vanese Barnes (Jay, Maine), Hannah Heald (Union, Maine), Chase Soares (Falmouth, Mass.), and John Morgan (Sanford, Maine) will continue their playing careers and pursue bachelor degrees at the next level beginning this fall.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine.— Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, Maine) of the Southern Maine Community College women’s soccer team recorded her sixth assist of the season against Dean College in the Lady SeaWolves regular season finale on Monday, Oct. 10. With that assist, Fields moved past Cady Gagnon (2008-11) to become the all-time points leader in program history. She has tallied 57 career points, 27 a season ago and 30 thus far in her 2016 campaign. Fields also ranks first all-time in goals scored with 24 and is tied for second all-time in assists with nine.
