Title: Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Alex Jenkins will return for his fifth season as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach.

Jenkins has more than 30 years of soccer experience in playing and coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels. A native of West Virginia, Jenkins attended Shepherd University (NCAA Division II) as a member and walk-on starter to the Men's Soccer program in 2000. His college career was cut short to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2003 to August 2004.

In 2006, Jenkins moved to Maine to enroll at Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) to continue his education and playing career. In 2007, Jenkins helped lead the SeaWolves in points and capture a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) title. He was named YSCC Most Outstanding Offensive Player and was the recipient of SMCC's Carroll Rines Sports Person of the Year award in the same year.

As captain of the 2008 and 2009 Men's Soccer teams, Jenkins led the SeaWolves in goals, assists, and points to attain YSCC All-Conference selections in both seasons under Coach Dougher. Jenkins was also a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week and Liberty Mutual Player of the Month selection in his time with the SeaWolves. Jenkins finished his SMCC career with 17 goals, nine assists, and 43 points.

Jenkins is a decorated combat veteran having served as a Medic in the United States Army for eight years. He holds a bachelor's degree in Geoscience as a graduate of the University of Southern Maine (2014).
