South Portland - In today's YSCC women's quarterfinal soccer action the SMCC Seawolves fell to the Unity Rams after a McKinley Bell (Ann Arbor, MI) goal, her third of the contest, four minutes into the overtime period giving the Lady Rams a 3-2 triumph and advancing them to the YSCC semifinals.
South Portland – The visiting Rams of Unity College arrived to the Graves Athletic field to take on the home Lady Seawolves needing a win to obtain home field for the upcoming Yankee Small College playoffs. Behind the offense of Sarah Clifford (Alton, NH) and the net keeping by Sydney Proctor (Saco, ME) the SMCC women recorded a 1-1 tie which will give them home field advantage for the Wednesday October 16th rematch against Unity.
Auburn - In this afternoon's YSCC soccer action Lady Seawolf forward Brittany Carver (Gardiner, ME) chipped in the game winning goal eight minutes into the second overtime off a pass from teammate Zyrah Giustra (New Sharon, ME) to lead SMCC to the a 2-1 victory over conference rival CMCC.
Presque Isle - After a ninety minute physical battle between the Lady Seawolves and the Lady Owls of the University of Maine - Presque Isle, the Lady Seawolves were overcome by the Lady Owls with a score of 1-0.
Concord - In tonight's YSCC soccer action the Lady Seawolves and NHTI's Lady Lynx played an even game on all fronts and after 110 minutes of play they found themselves deadlocked at a 0-0 tie.
Machias - After losing to the Clippers previously at home the Lady Seawolves traveled to Machias and put on a better performance but again fell short, losing 1-4. SMCC fired first with a Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) goal off a pass from midfielder Sarah Clifford (Alton, NH) to put the the Lady Seawolves up 1-0 early in the first half.
South Portland –The Lady Seawolves picked up a crucial tie in tonight’s YSCC soccer action against conference rival CMCC as the officials called the game for darkness at the 83:30 mark with the game knotted at 1-1.
Augusta – In today’s’ YSCC conference matchup the Lady Seawolves led a well-balanced offensive attack with five players contributing for nine goals giving SMCC a 9-0 victory over the University of Maine - Augusta. SMCC was led by forward Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) who knocked in three goals and Emma Bonneville (Belfast, ME) and Zyrah Giustra (New Sharon, ME) who each chipped in two goals
Unity – In today’s’ YSCC conference matchup SMCC’s Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) came up big scoring the game tying goal at the 61 minute mark and then assisting on two other goals to lead the Lady Seawolves to a 4-1 victory over the Lady Rams of Unity College.
South Portland – In tonight’s’ YSCC conference matchup UMaine-Machias’ Clayre Saunders (Nassau, Bahamas) scored three goals to lead the Clippers over the Lady Seawolves 5-0.
South Portland – The visiting Monks of St Joseph’s College arrived in today’s sweltering heat to find themselves unprepared for the Lady Seawolves’ offensive exhibition. The “Wolfpack” slid in seven goals with 22 shots on net, led by forward Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) and midfielder Emma Bonneville (Belfast, ME) who chipped in two goals apiece and midfielder Jessica Reed (Bedford, MA) who assisted three of the Seawolves seven goals.
Franklin, Massachusetts – SMCC started the 2013 season battling Dean College for 101 scoreless minutes until Dean sophomore Morgan Mencio (Avon, CT) scored in the second overtime leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 1-0 non-conference victory.
