  • SMCC Athletics Hosts 20th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser

    CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Foundation and the Seawolves Athletic Club teamed up with title sponsor Sodexo Dining Services to put on the 20th annual SMCC Athletics Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Purpoodock Golf Club on Monday, June 17.

    SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— At the conclusion of the semester, Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Associate Dean of Athletics and Alumni Affairs Matt Richards published the findings of the semi-annual Spring 2024 Athletics Engagement and Academic Report. The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility—a higher threshold than those standards of the College.

It is the mission of SMCC Athletics to continuously better the student-athlete experience, thus all of the proceeds of this 19th annual SMCC Athletics Golf Tournament will help fund the athletic program offerings at the College. The fundraiser is hosted by the SMCC Foundation and the SeaWolves Athletic Club.
