  • Lynx End Seawolves' Playoff Run

    Concord- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Seawolves Men's soccer team traveled to New Hampshire Technical Institute to play in the Yankee Small College Conference final four tournament. The Seawolves won the right to play the host Lynx of NHTI by defeating Unity College earlier in the week.

    South Portland - In tonight's YSCC quarterfinal action Seawolves' forward Steve Rwendeye (Kigali, Rawanda) netted two goals for SMCC to propel his team to a 2-1 victory over the Rams of Unity College.
  • Seawolves Edge Rams, Earn Postseason Home Game

    South Portland - In this afternoon's final regular season soccer contest both the Seawolves and the Rams of Unity College were fighting for more than just a victory, the winner of today's contest would earn the right to host next weeks' YSCC quarterfinal game. SMCC were able to get off nearly twice the amount of shots as Unity and it paid off as the Seawolves edged the Rams by one goal, 2-1.
  • Seawolves, Mustangs Deadlocked After Double OT

    Auburn - Earlier this week the Seawolves handed the Mustangs of CMCC a 2-1 loss after a hard fought game by both teams. This afternoon the two well matched teams battled for 110 minutes but neither team could come up with a win as they ended in a 1-1 tie.

    South Portland - In this afternoons men's soccer action the Seawolves and Mustangs of CMCC played a hard fought, even match for 90 minutes. The Seawolves got off 16 shot attempts with five shots on goal, capitalizing on two of those, while the Mustangs attempted 15 shots, seven being shots on goal, but only managed to get one shot past Seawolves' keeper Spencer Hoyt (Rochester, NH).

    South Portland - In yesterday's YSCC men's soccer action the Seawolves triumphed over the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College by a score of 1-0. Seawolves' midfielder Quentin Ndayishimiye (Burundi, Africa) scored the lone goal of the contest to give SMCC their second victory of the season.

    South Portland - This afternoon was all about a bitter rivalry as the Seawolves and Clipper of the University of Maine - Machias engaged in a hard fought 90 minutes in front of great crowd of fans and SMCC alumni.Tied at one goal each since the 30:55 mark the game looked like it was headed for overtime until UMM forward Juan Solares nailed the game winning shot into the back of the net with 5:55 remaining in regulation giving UMM the 2-1 victory.

  • Wolverines Hand Seawolves Second Loss

    South Portland - Despite a fantastic defensive effort by Seawolves goalkeeper Spencer Hoyt (Rochester, NH), who racked up 27 saves on 30 shots, the SMCC soccer team fell to the Wolverines of Bridgton Acacdemy, 3-0. This is the first win for the Wolverines in the 2014 season, as the Seawolves drop to 0-2-0.
  • Bulldogs Sink Seawolves in Season Opener

    South Portland, ME - In this afternoon's men's soccer home opener the Seawolves faced off against a very talented Dean College team. Coach Dougher's young defense, with only one veteran defender, put up a good effort with freshman goalie Spencer Hoyt (Rochester, NH) racking up six saves. Despite a strong effort by the defense, they could not hold off the Bulldogs' offensive fire power as Dean pulled away with a 7-0 victory.
