Farmington, PA - At last night's USCAA All-American banquet two SMCC student-athletes, Jose Nouchanthavong and Danielle McCusker, were named to the USCAA DII All-American teams.
South Portland - In tonight's YSCC semifinal the Fighting Saints of the College of St. Joseph went on a 9-0 run to open up the game. At the 16:56 mark Scott Proudman (Steep Falls, ME) hit a jumper to put the Seawolves on the board. The Seawolves struggled finding their offense for the remainder of the first half going into the break down 45-24. In the second half of play the Seawolves outscored the Saints 41-34 but it wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit as the Saints walked away with the 79-65 victory.
South Portland - Tonight the Seawolves used unselfish play, dishing out 23 assists on 35 made shot attempts, to overcome the Moose of the University of Maine - Augusta by a score of 89-71 and advance to the YSCC semifinals.
South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves went head to head with the Knights of Vermont Technical College. After 40 minutes of back and forth action, neither team being able to separate themselves by more than nine points at any point during the contest, the teams found themselves deadlocked at 71, sending the contest in overtime.
Auburn - Tonight the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College proved why they are ranked #1 in the nation in the USCAA as they ran away with the 97-64 victory against the Seawolves of SMCC. The Mustangs forced the Seawolves into a season high 40 turnovers, outrebounded the Seawolves by a margin of 48-36 and caused the Seawolves to shoot a mere 18% from beyond the arc.
South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves avenged a previous loss to the UMaine-Machias Clippers in a big way, defeating the Clippers by a 34 point margin, 94-60. The Seawolves forced the Clippers into 24 turnovers and held UMM to just 38% shooting and 23% from behind the arc while the Seawolves shot an impressive 59% from downtown going 13-22 for the game.
Concord, NH - For the first time in his eleven year tenure at the helm of the Seawolves' men's basketball program, head coach Matt Richards and the Seawolves handed New Hampshire Technical Institute a loss in each of the teams' two regular season meetings. Tonight the Seawolves forced the Lynx into 21 turnovers while shooting a stellar 52% from the field and 80% from the free throw line as the Seawolves defeated NHTI 103-90.
South Portland- The Seawolves' bench was the difference in today's game against the Owls of the University of Maine - Presque Isle as they outscored the Owls bench 42-27, helping the Seawolves overcome the Owls 86-75. Coming off the bench to lead the Seawolves was center Jacob Loveridge (Chertsey, England) who scored 14 points on 7-8 shooting from the field.
South Portland - In tonight's YSCC conference basketball action the Seawolves outrebounded the Rams of Unity College 55-39 and dished out 33 assists en route to a 121-84 victory. The Seawolves scored 80 of their 121 points in the paint, being led by center Tong Akot (Manchester, NH) who shot a stellar 83% from the field and paced the Seawolves with a team high 22 points.
Machias - In this afternoon's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves traveled north to take on the Clippers of the University of Maine - Machias. A below average shooting night was the story for the Seawolves as they fell to the Clippers 78-63.
South Portland - Once again defensive intensity and a balanced scoring attack by the Seawolves enabled them to cruise past their opponent,conference foe University of Maine - Augusta, by a score of 114-89. This win was head coach Matt Richards' 200th career win, making him now the winningest coach in SMCC history, beating the previous record of 199 wins set in 1978.
Presque Isle- In this afternoon's Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action, the traveling Southern Maine Community College men's basketball team used pressure defense and offensive contributions from 15 different players to pick up the win versus host Northern Maine Community College.
Newport, RI - This evening the Seawolves traveled to Rhode Island to battle the Rams of the Naval Academy Prepatory School. The Seawolves were plagued by a poor shooting night going 18-58 from the field and eventually falling to the Rams, 77-49.
Bangor - With just seconds remaining in tonight's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves found themselves sporting only a three point advantage when team captain, point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) iced two free throws to put the Seawolves up by five and seal the 74-69 victory.
South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves battled against the Islanders from John Abbott College. John Abbott jumped out to an early 6-0 start and the Seawolves were never able to take control of the lead. The Seawolves were able to cut the lead to three points, 79-76, with 00:23 remaining in regulation thanks in part to the play of point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) who ended with a team high 30 points. The Islanders answered with two made free throws by Daniel Cayer to solidy the lead at five and secure the 81-76 victory.
Rutland, VT - In tonight's YSCC men's basketball action between the Seawolves of SMCC and the Fighting Saints of St. Joseph's College the close fought contest was knotted 86-86 after 40 minutes of play. In overtime Seawolves point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) score nine of his 26 points on 2-2 shooting from the field and 5-6 shooting from the FT line to lead the Seawolves past the Saint 105-95. Nouchanthavong also dished out 10 assists and chipped in eight rebounds in tonight's contest.
New York - In this afternoon's basketball action the Seawolves battled against the Warriors of Vaughn College for 40 minutes and ended regulation with the score knotted at 82-82. In the overtime period the Warriors slipped past the Seawolves by a score of 90-86.

New York - The Seawolves started their first New York road trip game coming out to an early 15-0 lead and never looking back, defeating King's College by a score of 85-52. The defensive pressure and numerous offensive contributors for the Seawolves were too much King's.
South Portland - In tonight's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves went into the halftime break with a five point cushion, leading the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College by five, 50-45. At the 17:13 mark in the second half the Mustangs pulled ahead on a Kazre Cummings layup making the score 53-52. The Seawolves would keep the game close and even tie the score at the 14:42 mark but were never able to regain the lead, eventually falling to the Mustangs 95-85.
South Portland - In tonight's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves avenged the 2012-13 season ending loss that NHTI handed them in last years semifinal conference playoff action. The Seawolves' defense forced the Lynx into 22 turnovers allowing SMCC to overcome NHTI by a score of 104-92.
Unity - In tonight's YSCC conference matchup between the Seawolves of SMCC and the Rams of Unity College the Seawolves bench dropped in 78 points, outscoring the Rams and leading the Seawolves to a 107-77 victory.
Augusta - In tonight's YSCC matchup between the Seawolves of SMCC and the Moose of the University of Maine - Augusta the Seawolves forced 29 turnovers enroute to a 103-76 victory, the ninth of this season.
South Portland - In this afternoon's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves defense held the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College to 36% shooting from the field and 0-15 from behind the arc to propel them to a 82-64 victory.

The key to victory in tonight's contest was the battle of the boards which the Bulldogs won, giving themselves numerous second chance points and overcoming the undefeated Seawolves by a score of 88-72.

Randolph, VT - With one second remaining in regulation and the score knotted at 78-78 SMCC point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) hit a long range two pointer to lift the Seawolves over the Knights of Vermont Technical College by a score of 80-78.
South Portland - In tonight's YSCC conference basketball action the SMCC bench scored 73 of the Seawolves 100 total points to overcome Hampshire College by a score of 100-29.

Coming out from the break a rejuvinated squad led by point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) jumped on the Rams from Navy Prep and held on to triumph 77-66. Nouchanthavong paced the Seawolves with a 22 point, seven rebound perfomance.
South Portland – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) used 73.7% shooting from the free throw line in the second half and went 6-8 from the line in the final 2 minutes of the game to finish with a 79-74 win over Bridgeton Academy.
